Everyone has their own Christmas traditions. I always love hearing other family’s traditions because it’s their “normal”. Most people think their traditions are “normal” or sometimes, not normal! 😂 I personally think some of our family’s traditions are pretty special…
Christmas Eve: We used to ALL (or the majority) go to Grandma’s house on Christmas Eve and eat tamales. We exchanged gifts then… All of our stocking were hung and we filled each other’s, but did not open those until Christmas Day. Since my Grandmother passed away, we celebrate Christmas Eve at my house. Not the whole family comes, because our family is always growing and because of distance, but it’s still special… and we get to see some of the fam:) We still eat tamales (so yummy😍) and exchange gifts! Then we go to church that evening.
Christmas Eve Night: Every Christmas Eve night I put the angel on the tree. Usually my daddy helps me, but the last couple years, I’ve been tall enough. haha yay! We always put milk & cookies out for Santa, of course;) and carrots for the reindeer… also put reindeer food out in the yard with sparkles to guide them 🎅🏻
Christmas Day: I usually wake up Mommy & Daddy… 😉 BUT we have to wait FOREEEEVVVVVEEEERRRRRR for Daddy to set up the camera for us to go in the living room. Finally, we get to go down the hallway and into the living room (while Daddy films it all) and see what SANTA brought ! 😉🎁. Christmas Day is usually pretty quiet… We stay in our Christmas PJs all day & eat candy. Mom usually takes a nap…. or 2. Then I make her get up to play games with me 🤗
Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, and unto us a son is given. And leadership is placed upon his shoulder. And his name shall be called: wonderful Counselor, mighty God, father of the future age, Prince of Peace.”
